The boat leaves from Corralejo harbour and takes 20 minutes to cross La Bocaina, the strait between Fuerteventura and Lanzarote. What hardly anyone warns you about: the number of departures changes a lot between summer and winter.

Times read day by day from the operator’s calendar on 14 August 2026: from August to early September there were 5–7 daily departures; from 26 October to 6 December, exactly three every day. If you travel in winter, the last departure is at 13:00 — plan your day around that.
The operator states that return times depend on the outbound ferry you choose and that you see them during booking. We don’t publish a return timetable here because, going through the actual booking flow, only the outbound time is selected. In practice you get 1 to 4 hours on the island. If you want full control over the return, the water taxi (below) lets you choose it on the day.

The gap between the two options is €2 per person: that’s what it costs to have the operator handle the Cabildo authorisation instead of fighting the 5-day window yourself. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
Besides the ferry there is a water taxi — a fast boat that crosses in 15 minutes. It has three concrete advantages: it costs €16 with the permit already included (cheaper than the ferry with processing), it leaves every half hour, and you choose your return on the day: stay on the island as long as you like.

Two honest warnings: tickets are collected at Calle Iglesia 26 in Corralejo (not at the harbour), and stepping from the boat onto the Lobos jetty can be awkward in a swell. With small children or limited mobility, the big ferry is more comfortable. Free cancellation up to 48 h before.
If it’s the seabed you’re after, there’s a ferry + snorkelling version: a boat with an underwater viewing deck, a drink on board and 30 minutes of snorkelling in a cove. It leaves at 10:00, 11:15 and 13:00 and lasts 2h30–4h.
